Content
Myology and Kinesiology Manual for Massage Therapists presents the anatomy and function of the muscular system using an innovative applied learning technique designed to help today’s massage student learn and understand this subject. As this is a subject that many massage students struggle with, this integrated workbook approach helps students apply their knowledge to massage-specific scenarios, and accommodates the needs of multiple learning styles. Beginning with an overview of the body and anatomical structures, the text builds to a thorough review of each body area, complete with full-color illustrations. Each chapter is divided into two parts: a text/content section followed by an activity/workbook section. The text section provides context for the activities and helps familiarize the student with the different bones, muscles, and other structures within each body region. The workbook section includes muscle drawing exercises, claywork exercises, case study exercises and review questions. * Key Terms : Key terms are listed and defi ned at the beginning of the text so that students can learn the terms they will be presented with in the chapter. * Chapter summary : Chapter summary ties together the text section of each chapter and identifies the main points of the chapter. * Muscle page exercises : Series of “fill-ins” in which a figure, stripped of muscle and color, is included for the student to label, color, and identify origin, insertion, innervation, antagonist and synergist muscles, etc. * Palpation exercises : Students work “hands on” to learn how to palpate various muscles and bones in the different regions. * Clay work : These exercises help reinforce names and locations of muscles. They require the use of small plastic skeletons and clay. Students create the muscles that are listed in a table and attach them to the plastic skeleton where appropriate. * Case Study : Brief short answer questions that encourage students to think about how they would treat a client coming into their office. * Review : Review questions to reinforce what the student has learned in the chapter. Often the review section includes a review chart to further help the student learn the content. Cindy Moorcroft BA, LMT

Book condition
An important factor of a second-hand book is the condition of the book. The buyer may not be surprised. Always mention damages or defects. We use a system with 3 stars:
The book is acceptable: you have used it to study and made notes and markings – but everything is still readable. The cover and pages are in good condition.
The book still looks good: there are a few notes in it and you marked it. There are hardly any signs of use on the cover and pages.
The book is (almost) new: you have not written or marked in it. There are no signs of use on the cover and pages.
